Houston Texans Betting Preview

The Texans had their nine-game winning streak broken last week by the Colts. Deshaun Watson continues a trend of low volume. I know he did have that five-touchdown game several weeks ago against the Dolphins, but he did it on just 20 passes. For the season, Watson has multiple touchdowns on just 6 of his 13 games. In last weeksloss to the Colts it was also the first time he topped 31 passing attempts in a game since Week 5. If you look at the prop betting results for Watson below, you will see that betting the under on passing yards has been profitable.

Last week Lamar Miller had 33 rushing yards on 14 attempts. The Jets have been worse against the run than the pass. This is a game that Lamar Miller should dominate. He also caught five passes last week so he is a good bet to go over 100 yards combined rushing and receiving.

The lack of throwing opportunities will limit the Texans receivers with the exception of DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins had 10 targets last week and scored his 9th receiving touchdown of the season. Demaryius Thomas just doesn’t see enough targets to trust him to have a big day when the running game should be working.

Texans Prop Betting Picks

Total Receiving Yards – DeAndre Hopkins (HOU) UNDER 90.5 (-115)

Total Passing Yards – Deshaun Watson (HOU) UNDER 240.5 (-115)

Total Rushing Yards – Lamar Miller (HOU) OVER 73.5 (-120)

Total Rushing And Receiving Yards – Lamar Miller (HOU) OVER 88.5 (-115)

New York Jets Betting Preview

The Jets beat the Bills last week but Sam Darnold finished with just one touchdown and 170 yards. Darnold has thrown for over 250 yards just twice. If you take a look at the prop betting results so far this season you would have made $525.25 just betting the under every week on total passing yards. That is a solid trend that should continue in this game.

With Crowell out it will be up to Elijah McGuire took who rushed 17 times for 60 yards and a touchdown last week. He should be a workhorse back but I really don’t see any big results unless he some how breaks off one long run. Jermaine Kearse and Robby Anderson are about all the Jets have for receivers but they should easily be controlled by the Texans defense.

Jets Prop Bet Picks

Total Receiving Yards – Chris Herndon (NYJ) UNDER 32.5 (-110)

Total Receiving Yards – Robby Anderson (NYJ) UNDER 45.5 (+110)

Total Passing Yards – Sam Darnold (NYJ) UNDER 205.5 (-115)

Total Touchdown Passes – Sam Darnold (NYJ) UNDER 1.5 (-260)

Total Completions – Sam Darnold (NYJ) UNDER 18 (-115)

Total Rushing And Receiving Yards – Elijah McGuire (NYJ) OVER 73.5 (-115)

2018 Quarterback Prop Betting Results

Jets vs Texans Betting Prediction:

This game could get ugly quick. The Texans defense should be able to dominate the game and the Texans offense should be able to run a conservative offense. The game should stay close for the first half but once the Texans get a big enough lead the Jets will need to open it up in the second half and that is when the Texans should put away the Jets and win by double digits.

Bet: Texans -7

Score Prediction: Texans 31 – Jets 13

Best prop bet pick:

Total Rushing And Receiving Yards – Lamar Miller (HOU) OVER 88.5 (-115)
