Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview

Lamar Jackson played the entire game last week, and it was a relatively clean game. He had 14 completions on 23 attempts for just 131 yards and a touchdown. He also added 95 yards on the ground.

Kenneth Dixon had 11 carries and played on 52% of the snaps last week and Gus Edwards had 19 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown. Edwards is not a primary receiver so he is not going to get much playing time if the Ravens are behind.

Considering Jackson hasn’t attempted more than 25 passes in a game this season it is hard for receivers to rack up big yards consistently. Willie Snead’s six targets lead the team last week and Michael Crabtree didn’t record a catch last week.

Ravens Prop Betting Picks

Lamar Jackson Passing Yards UNDER 172.5 (-115)
Lamar Jackson Rushing Yards OVER 62.5 (-1115)
Gus Edwards Rushing Yards UNDER 64.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Chargers have gone 10-1 over their last 11 games and have clinched a playoff spot, but are still fighting for playoff seeding. Philip Rivers has thrown for multiple touchdowns in every game but one this season.

Austin Ekeler is still in the concussion protocol and being viewed as questionable. Melvin Gordon will start even though he is not 100%. I like Gordon this week because of his upside as a receiving back.

Keenan Allen left the last game early with a hip injury and is currently a game time decision. I do like Allen to play but he may be more of a decoy to draw away the defense from other receivers. Mike Williams and Tyrell Williams are going to have to carry the load against the Ravens if the Chargers are going to win. Mike Williams had 7 receptions for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns last week on 9 targets. Tyrell had 6 receptions for 71 yards on 12 targets. The target counts were season-highs for both players. Even if Allen plays I expect both receivers to get 8+ targets this week.

Chargers Prop Bet Picks

Philip Rivers Passing Yards UNDER 254.5 (-115)
Melvin Gordon Rushing Yards OVER 66.5 (-115)

Ravens vs Chargers Betting Prediction

The Ravens were 20-12 winners over Tampa Bay last week. Lamar Jackson completed 14-of-23 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown with 95 rushing yards on 18 carries. Gus Edwards rushed 19 times for 104 yards and a touchdown. The Ravens ran for 242 yards which is the key to the Ravens offense. They must be in a game script that is close and allows them to run the ball.

The Chargers are tied for the NFL’s best record at 11-3 but right now would be an AFC wild-card team because they lose a tiebreaker for the AFC West title with fellow 11-3 team Kansas City. Last week Philip Rivers completed 26-of-38 passes for 313 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Chargers went down 28-14 with 8:15 remaining but rallied to stun the Chiefs.

The Chargers are the “Rodney Dangerfield” of playoff contenders. No respect for this team but I like them to go deep in the playoffs.
