Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview

The Jaguars ended their seven game losing streak in Week 13 and they did it with Cody Kessler at quarterback. However, before you start celebrating the quarterback change, they won 6-0 and failed to score a touchdown. At quarterback Cody Kessler finished with 18 completions on 24 attempts for 150 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He added five rushing attempts for 28 yards.

At running back, Leonard Fournette was suspended for Week 13 for his fight in the prior game. Before being suspended against the Bills he had 18 rushing attempts for 95 yards and two touchdowns. The Titans do have an above average run defense that ranks 13th in rushing DVOA.

Kessler’s targets last week: nine went to running backs (Yeldon had eight and Hyde had one). With Fournette back, that could translate to a bunch of short dump-off passes to him. Dede Westbrook had five targets for three receptions and twenty five yards with no touchdowns. Donte Moncrief had four targets for three catches and forty yards.

Jaguars Prop Bet Picks

Passing Attempts – Cody Kessler (JAC) Under 29.5 (-125)

Rushing Yards – Leonard Fournette (JAC) Over 82.5 (-105)

Tennessee Titans Betting Preview

Quarteback Marcus Mariota has thrown multiple touchdowns in four of his last five games. Mariota has also been using his legs rushing for 43 yards last week.

At running back, Dion Lewis had 40 snaps to Derrick Henry’s 28 last week. Dion Lewis is the better all around back but both should have enough time on the field that either can get the one big play in the game.

At receiver, Corey Davis led the team with seven targets last week. He finished the game with 3 receptions for 42 yards and one touchdown. It looks like he will matchup with Jalen Ramsey this Thursday, who had the ability to shut him down. However, Mariota will have no choice to target him regardless of the matchup. Tight end Anthony Firkser caught his first touchdown of the season last week. He has gone over 42 receiving yards in the past three weeks. Jonnu Smith, Tajae Sharpe and Taywan Taylor are all grouped together and anyone one of them can get 3+ receptions in a week.

Titans Betting Prop Bet Picks

Jaguars vs Titans Betting Prediction:

Why watch this game if you don’t have money on it? Hey NFL, this game is your “integrity fee” as the only people watching in the fourth quarter will have money on it. Both teams feature good defenses with below average offenses. The Jaguars defense ranks 5th in DVOA and the Titans defense ranks 13th. On offense, Jacksonville ranks 28th in DVOA and Tennessee ranks 26th in (DVOA) on offense. Yes, the numbers don’t lie. This will be a low scoring and close game.

I am also taking a 6 point teaser parlay on the Jags (+10.5) and under (43.5) points. Using the current William Hill betting lines.

Score Prediction: Titans 20 – Jaguars 17
