Indianapolis Colts Betting Preview
The winner will advance to the playoffs, and the loser goes home. The playoffs for these two teams start tonight. Eric Ebron is working through a concussion and still needs to clear the concussion protocol prior to this game. Andrew Luck continues to show he is back with another two touchdowns last week and 36 for the season. Luck torched the Titans at home with three touchdowns last time these two teams played. No reason to think he can not do it again if he needs to.
Marlon Mack goes against a Titans team that ranks 11th in run DVOA and with Luck able to pass on the Titans I don’t think he will get a lot of carries. The Colts ran just 16 times last week and I can see them doing that again. Even if the Colts get up big, I expect the Colts to get Mack ready for next week and limit his touches.
T.Y. Hilton is always injured and always seem to come up big when the Colts need him. Last week he had 7 receptions for 138 yards. I like him to be able to go over the 100 yard mark again. Hilton hasn’t scored a touchdown in his past five games but he’s seen at least eight targets in all those games and has three 100-yard games. The last time he went against the Titans he had 9 receptions for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. If Eric Ebron gets cleared to play, he should be able to get 5+ receptions for 70+ yards. His absence last week allowed Zach Pascal and Chester Rogers to each see seven targets. For the Colts, it is not a matter of if I will be betting on the receivers to go over the totals but, which ones depending on if Ebron plays.
Colts Prop Bet Picks
Passing Yards – Andrew Luck (IND) OVER 280.5 (-115)
Completions – Andrew Luck (IND) OVER 25.5 (-115)
Rushing Yards – Marlon Mack (IND) UNDER 60.5 (-115)
Tennessee Titans Betting Preview
Will Marcus Mariota be able to play? I’m expecting him to play on Sunday night because the Titans will have no chance if he doesn’t. Mariota played through his nerve issues earlier this season and he wasn’t able to throw accurate passes. I want him to play because if he does not the point spread could go up to 6.
Derrick Henry has been on fire. Henry has eight touchdowns over his last four games. He is also averaging 24 rushing attempts per game over his last three games. Those touches came at the expense of Dion Lewis who touched the ball just six times last week. Henry has the Titans reverting back to what they are comfortable with. Running the ball and playing physical defense.
While Corey Davis has a hamstring issue I fully expect him to play in this playoff game. Davis was held to just two catches and 30 yards when these teams met earlier and Davis has been held to fewer than 50 yards over his last four games. In part, the lack of production is caused by Mariota and his poor accuracy because of his injury but not all of it is. The Titans just do not have the type of receiving talent to make me a believer even if Marrota was healthy. Taywan Taylor is worth a look because there just is are not many options if the Titans find themselves behind and needing to pass to have a chance to win.
Titans Prop Bet Picks
Rushing Yards – Derrick Henry (TEN) OVER 70.5 (-120)
Colts vs Titans Betting Prediction:
The Colts opened as a one point road favorite and were quickly bet up to three points. I am comfortable taking them up to seven points. The Colts matchup well with the Titans and they should be able to score enough to take the Titans out of their run first offense and force them to throw the ball to have a chance to win. The Colts defense has improved enough to hold down this offense and give the Colts a double digit victory.
