Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview
Patrick Mahomes has 45 touchdowns this season and with two games to go it looks like Peyton Manning and his 55 touchdowns record is safe. This might not be a good game for Mahomes facing a Seahawk defense on the road with several key players hurt for the Chiefs. Sammy Watkins out, Tyreek Hill has been playing hurt and Spencer Ware is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Spencer Ware appears to be doubtful and unlikely to return from his hamstring injury. Damien Williams rushed for 49 yards on just 10 carries last week. Williams also caught all six of his targets for 74 yards. The play of Williams is something to watch for in the future to see if the Chiefs start doing a similar timeshare as the Saints do for their running backs.
Sammy Watkins looks like he’s trending towards missing another game. That means Tyreek Hill and Chris Conley should continue to get the snaps. It’s worth mentioning that Kelvin Benjamin made his Chiefs debut last week but played on just 20% of the snaps and had just one catch. The receiver to watch is Hill as his best games this season have come on the road. On the road he has 752 yards and eight touchdowns. A guy I like for the Chiefs is Travis Kelce, who had 7 receptions for 61 yards last week should be able to keep getting +6 receptions every week.
Chiefs Prop Bet Picks
Patrick Mahomes Passing Yards OVER 305.5 (-115)
Tyreek Hill Receiving Yards OVER 75.5 (-115)
Travis Kelce Receiving Yards OVER 80.5 (-115)
Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview
The Chiefs’ pass defense ranks slightly above average but the Chiefs run defense is dead last in DVOA. This looks like a good spot for Russell Wilson to get his running game going. He has been throwing for multiple touchdowns in almost every game but he has done that on a low passing volume. No reason to change that for this game.
With Rashaad Penny out last week, Chris Carson ran 22 times for 119 yards and a touchdown. Carson also caught all six targets for 29 yards. Penny is looking iffy again this week, which could force Carson into a heavy workload once again. Mike Davis is a good receiving back and caught eight passes for 63 yards last week.
Doug Baldwin only had 4 receptions but he managed 2 touchdowns and 77 receiving yards. Tyler Lockett, David Moore and Ed Dickson just don’t get the targets in this low passing volume offense to be a factor from week to week.
Seahawks Prop Betting Picks
Russell Wilson Rushing Yards OVER 18.5 (-115)
Chris Carson Rushing Yards OVER 72.5 (-115)
Chiefs vs Seahawks Betting Prediction:
The Chiefs lost a tough game to the Chargers and need to keep winning to get home field advantage. The Seahawks are a tough team at home and the rushing defense weakness of the Chiefs is just what Seattle needs to get its offense going. The Seahawks should win the game with a rushing offense that I have going over 200 yards on the ground and a physical defense that should be able to get to Mahomes enough to get the win.
