Saints vs Bengals
Prop Bet Preview & Picks
New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees had a great game in a big win over the Rams, as he passed for 346 yards and added 4 touchdown passes without an interception. I know Brees hasn’t been as good on the road or outdoors but the Bengals will score so look for Brees to put up a 300+ game. At running back, Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara are back to splitting time and last week it was (58% Kamara, 48% Ingram). Kamara had the better day last week with over 100 total yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns. I like Kamara again this week with the Bengals one of the worst run defenses in the league. At receiver a big question mark as the Saints signed Dez Bryant off of free agency. How many downs will he play? I don’t think he will do much and that means the passing game will still focus on Michael Thomas. Last week against the Rams he had 10 catches on 12 targets for 211 yards and a touchdown. Tre’Quan Smith also had a touchdown and this may be his last chance to get many targets with the signing of Dez. At tight end there is Benjamin Watson who is a decent option for touchdowns but not a big yardage game.
Andy Dalton will not have a big passing game without Green playing but he can still be effective against a Saints secondary that can be beat. Look for the Bengals to try a ball control offense that has a lot of running and play action passes to the running backs & tight end. Joe Mixon will get plenty of running and receiving touches this week and I like him for yardage prop bets. Even if Giovani Bernard (questionable) plays this week, I still like Mixon because the offense is going to have to involve him if the Bengals are to have a chance to win. No A.J. Green for a couple of weeks, which mean Tyler Boyd is the man! The Saints will take away Boyd and that will lead to more opportunities John Ross who should be back after missing 3 of the last 4 games, so he would presumably be the biggest beneficiary of Green’s absence.
