Prop Bet Preview
Last week against the Colts Derek Carr completed 75% of his passes for 244 yards with 3 touchdowns and no picks. He has another good matchup this week against an average San Francisco pass defense. With the Raiders defense unable to really slow down anyone, Carr will need to keep passing to have a chance to win.
The Raiders had only 19 rushing attempts against the Colts. Yes, I know they were behind but even early there looked to be no interest in sticking with a rushing game. Doug Martin had a decent day with 13 rushes for 72 yards. However, some of those yards were because of a soft Colts defense playing in a prevent mode with a lead. He really didn’t look like he could get much yardage against a defense that was committed to stopping the run.
Were you on the Jordy Nelson bandwagon as he was expected to see a bigger role after the Amari Cooper trade? He had just 1 reception for 14 yards with 4 total targets. Carr is looking for Jared Cook, who had 4 receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. With the lack of any top name talent at receiver, look for Carr to spread the ball around which should keep the yardage total for any one receiver from getting to high.
Raiders Prop Bet Picks
Total Receiving Yards – Jared Cook (OAK) over 57.5 (-125)
Total Passing Yards – Derek Carr (OAK) under 269.5 (-115)
Total Rushing Yards – Doug Martin (OAK) under 56.5 (+100)

Prop Bet Preview
Will C.J. Beathard start? ( He won’t, Nick Mjullens will start and it does not change my picks below). It is Thursday morning and I am still not sure he will because the type of injury he has makes it hard to grip a football. If he can’t go then Nick Mullens will start against a bad Raider secondary. Mullens has never taken a snap in the NFL and even a bad secondary can make some big plays.
Matt Breida had 16 carries for just 42 yards and wasn’t even an afterthought in the passing game. He is also injured and may not play tonight. Even if he does play it will be running back by committee with the guy to look for is Alfred Morris. He is the healthy one so he will be on the field and really could benefit from volume.
Receiver Kendrick Bourne had 7 catches on 10 targets last week in Arizona. He is getting his shot with Pierre Garcon out. Marquise Goodwin is a boom or bust receiver. He has a good matchup this week against a poor Raiders secondary and has a good chance for big plays if Beathard is the starter. Then there is George Kittle. He leads the 49ers with 37 catches and 584 receiving yards. It doesn’t matter who starts at quarterback for the 49ers, Kittle will still see a lot of targets and has a good chance to get a touchdown.
49ers Prop Bet Picks
Total Receiving Yards – George Kittle (SF) over 59.5 (-125)
Total Receiving Yards – Marquise Goodwin (SF) over 50.5 (-115)
