Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens need a win to keep pace in the AFC Wild Card race, where they would currently be the sixth seed in the conference. Joe Flacco threw for 269 yards and a pair of scores against the Lions last week. But this week he goes against a Steelers team that held him to 235 yards and picked him off twice in the first meeting between these teams. At running back Alex Collins continues to be the featured back for the Ravens and he is coming off a good week where he rushed for five yards per carry and scored twice against the Lions. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is banged up and did not practice on Thursday. Mike Wallace had a 116 yard game last week and is in a good spot here to get the targets with Maclin hurting.
While I do not have the Ravens offense scoring a lot, the lack of players to get touches can help them exceed their prop betting projections: ( Alex Collins, Mike Wallace).

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh won last week over the lowly Bengals on Monday, but it was as much as the Bengals finding a way to lose in the fourth quarter as the Steelers winning the game. The Ravens lead the league with 20 interceptions on the year, and they rank inside the top ten in sacks. Ben Roethlisberger only threw for 216 yards and one score in the first meeting between these two teams. Ben just hasn’t been the same this year and he has been prone to the interception which will be one of my prop bets. At running back Le’Veon Bell carried the ball 35 times for 144 yards and two scores in the first game between these teams. In the past the Ravens were a top run stopping team but Baltimore has shown some cracks in their rush defense this season. At wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will be suspended for this game for his dirty hit and stare down of Vontaze Burfict on Monday. This means we have Martavis Bryant back into a near every down role. Unfortunately I just don’t trust him because he seems to disappear for long stretches of the game. I am all over Antonio Brown with top corner Jimmy Smith out for the Ravens. While I do not expect a lot of scoring I do like Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell to get enough touches for both to go over 100 yards.

Ravens vs Steelers Betting Picks

These two division rivals play hard and close games. Last week the Steelers got beat up in the victory over the Bengals and they face a team that will pound on them all game long. I like the Ravens and the points as long as I can get 3.5 or more. This game has the feel of a lower scoring and close game that comes down to the last minute field goal.

Betting Pick: Ravens +5
Score Prediction:
Steelers 20 – Ravens 17
