Oakland Raiders Preview
Quarterback Derek Carr looked terrible last week vs Buffalo but on the upside since they stayed on the East coast there is no travel worry on the game. Derek Carr and the Raiders do not have a running game and that means once again the Raiders will have to win with Carr throwing 30+ times. Last week he threw for 313 yards (101 passing attempts over the last two games) and I expect more of the same tonight. Running Back Marshawn Lynch will return from his one game suspension this week but he has looked slow and disinterested this season. He just doesn’t have anything left in the tank and the Raiders would have been better off using a draft pick on a running back than bringing in Lynch. Wide receiver Amari Cooper struggled again last week and reverted to his “overrated” betting value. Michael Crabtree had ten targets last week and continues to produce decent yards and receptions. The problem with the Raiders starts on the offensive line and will not stop until the line starts to play better. Do they tonight? They go against a soft Miami defensive line so I like them to get the job done this week.
Miami Dolphins Preview
Quarterback Jay Cutler is back! Cutler has not gone over 230 passing yards in any game this season. He has also thrown interceptions in each of his last five starts this season. Why do I like Cutler tonight? He is going against a Raider team that can be burnt by the pass and one that will put up some points tonight. Running Back Jay Ajayi was traded to Philadelphia and the reserves are not much to look at. Wide receiver DeVante Parker is healthy and practicing in full this week and we know that Jay Cutler loves throwing him the football. Jarvis Landry should continue to see his share of targets. I really like DeVante Parker and Crabtree to get in a little shootout.
