The Raiders (3-5) quarterback Derek Carr followed up his 417-yard explosion versus Kansas City with a 313-yard effort against Buffalo, but he also threw two interceptions for the third time in five games. Michael Crabtree saw his three game touchdown streak end last week. Amari Cooper’s breakout effort against the Chiefs was followed by a typical 48-yard performance last week against Buffalo. Reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack has been held in check with just a half-sack over his last four games.
The Miami Dolphins (4-3) traded away a Pro Bowl running back this week and some are wondering if they just gave up on the season. Then again they had the NFL’s worst offense with Jay Ajayi and were blanked for the second time in five games (40-0) by Baltimore last week. Running backs Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams will get a shot this week and I like Williams to get the most reps. Quarterback Jay Cutler is expected to return under center after a one game absence due to cracked ribs. He has not topped 230 passing yards in any game this season and he has thrown interceptions in each of his last five starts. However, he is still considered an upgrade from Matt Moore. Jarvis Landry ranks second in the league with 50 catches but he has only averaged eight-yard per reception. Wide receiver DeVante Parker is set to return from a three-game absence due to an ankle injury and is in a very good spot against a weak Oakland pass defense.
Raiders vs Dolphins Game Betting Prediction
The Sunday night game could be labeled overrated vs ugly. The Raiders defense has been exposed with some of the slowest linebackers in the NFL and the Raiders offense still has not developed a running game. The Dolphins have the worst offense in the NFL and just traded away their starting running back. I like the Miami move because it really opens the offense up to pass more. Look for Cutler and Carr to both put up decent numbers. Carr once again should go over 300 yards and Cutler will have his best game of the year.
