Chiefs vs Raiders Prop Betting Analysis
Kansas City won their first six games based on a strong running game lead by Kareem Hunt and wide receiver Tyreek Hill opening up the deep passing game. Hill was injured against Pittsburgh, suffering a possible concussion. However, he was cleared and will play Thursday night. How did the Steelers dominate an undefeated Chiefs team? They owned the line of scrimmage. Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell rushed for 179 yards on 32 carries. The Chiefs ended up with 223 passing yards but just 28 rushing yards on 15 carries. Running back Kareem Hunt never got going and ended up with just 21 rushing yards. Before this game the Chiefs were averaging 387 yards per game with 134.8 rushing yards. Without Hunt controlling the ball, Alex Smith was not nearly as effective. He does have 1,637 passing yards with 12 TDs and no picks this season. The Chiefs defense was exposed and it does rank 29th in yards allowed per game and they are 26th in rushing yards allowed per game (130.7ypg).
What happened to the Raiders? The offense has disappeared. The Raiders are averaging 13.2 points per game over the last four games. They did lose Derek Carr for one game due to injury but he played in the others and the offense still wasn’t clicking. Last week against the Chargers Carr was 21 of 30 for 171 yards with one TD and two picks. The Raiders running game has been a major disappointment this season. The big run for the Raiders was from a wide receiver for 47 yards by Cordarrelle Patterson. The Raiders defense struggled against Phillip Rivers, who threw for 268 yards. Running back Melvin Gordon rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown. Gordon was also a big part of the passing game against Oakland and caught nine passes for 67 yards and a score. The Raiders rank 30th in the NFL in yards per game (278.3) and 26th in passing yards per game (184.7). They allow 349.8 yards per game (23rd) and 117.2 yards on the ground (21st).
Chiefs vs Raiders Player Prop Bet Picks
This might look like a Chiefs blowout win. The Raiders offense has been horrid and the Chiefs are coming off their first loss. However, this is an AFC West division game. These two teams no each others tendencies and I have this game a close one. (To see my free game betting prediction go to SportsBetting.pics/predictions).
Jared Cook is the guy to watch. Crabtree and Cooper get all of the press but Cook as almost as many targets as they do. With Cooper failing to live up to the hype look for the Raiders to increase the targets to Cook. I know Pittsburgh ran all over the Chiefs last week but the Raiders do not have the offensive line to do that. The Raiders will need to pass to win and they will spread it around. On the Chiefs side the Alex Smith has never had a 300 yard passing game against division rivals. I like TE Kelce to get plenty of short targets. But Smith will not have a big game. There are things that Smith does well and division opponents know how to take them away including his running for yards. I actually have 11 picks.
