Raiders vs Redskins Prop Betting Analysis
The sportsbooks had this the most likely shootout of the week. That was before the 80 points put up on Thursday by the Rams and 49ers. So far this season Derek Carr has five touchdowns and no interceptions. Marshawn Lynch has been getting enough touches to keep him a decent yardage producer but nothing great. The Redskins are thin in the secondary so someone will be getting some soft coverage. I expect that Amari Cooper will draw Josh Norman. Derek Carr has shown he will take what the defense gives him and if Crabtree has the lesser coverage. He will get the targets. Tight end Jared Cook will also get several targets as the Redskins have been hurt by tight ends this season.
Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins has not put up spectacular numbers this season. The Redskins will have to be able to throw the ball if they are going to win. I really do not like any of the Redskin running backs this week. They are likely to spread the ball around and pass more than run. Interesting to see what Terrelle Pryor does this week. Going against his former team would be a motivation for some players. However, Pryor always seems to be that athletic guy who never produces the numbers that people expect.
Watching both of these teams this season has lead me to believe that tackling is now against the law. Both have had some sloppy defensive play in the secondary and I can see several big plays being made after missed tackles. Right now, I can not see the Redskins taking full advantage of the Raiders secondary. They just haven’t developed a consistent passing game this year. I do expect Cousins to have his best game of the year as he gets a lot of slop yards in the fourth quarter.
