Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers

Chiefs vs Chargers Prop Betting Analysis

The Chiefs have started 2-0 and Alex Smith has thrown for 619 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions, This week he gets the Chargers who will likely be without corner Jason Verrett. With several weapons to throw to (Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt) Alex looks like he will have another good prop betting week. Running back Kareem Hunt has to be looking forward to going against a defense that allowed 122 rushing yards to Jay Ajayi last week. Tyreek Hill has shown the ability to make the big play. Not as consistent as I would like and this week he will likely matchup against Casey Hayward who is one of the best corners in the league. For fantasy and prop betting this week it means that there will be more targets to the other receivers on the Chiefs. Travis Kelce will continue to get targets as teams have to stop the deep passes to Hill and try and slow down the running of Hunt.

The Chargers are a good team that finds a way to lose. The are off to an 0-2 start despite the play of Philip Rivers. Last week he was 31 of 39 and threw for over 300 yards. But, these are the Chargers and the special teams has failed Los Angeles in both games. The Kansas City secondary took a big hit with the loss of Eric Berry. Rivers will have open receivers to throw to again this week. Is this the week running back Melvin Gordon gets his reps? Last week he got just 67 yards rushing as the Chargers went pass heavy. Of course, one players loss of touches is another players breakout. WR Keenan Allen caught nine passes for 100 yards (on ten targets) vs the Dolphins.

Chiefs vs Chargers Prop Betting Predictions

Don’t coaches always say they want to run the ball more? Yet, once the game starts they quickly turn to the pass. Both teams are missing important players in the secondary and both would be advised to take advantage of it. I like them to pass first and use the pass to setup the run later. I have this as a good close game that will have both offenses getting yards and touchdowns. If the Chargers field goal kicker can make a few kicks then both teams have a chance at the 30 point mark.
