Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers Prop Bet Preview

Chicago Bears

Last week Bears QB Mike Glennon threw for only 101 yards and attempted just 22 passes. The wide receivers / tight ends had only four targets in the game. So where were the targets? The running backs had 12 and all of them were completed. Think it won’t happen again? They won! Look for more Jordan Howard after last weeks 138 yard, two touchdown performance against the Steelers, which included a game winning touchdown run in overtime. The thing about Jordan Howard is that he is not a good receiver. If the Bears are even or have a lead he will get a lot of touches but, if they are behind he will not be on the field. I expect him to get early touches but he may not play much in the second half. I know that 4 targets to wide receivers / tight ends will not happen again. However, who on the Bears roster deserves 10 or 12 targets a week?

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers has finished each game with 300+ passing yards this season. The last two have almost been out of necessity with Green Bay trailing by multiple scores in the second half. They will not be passing from behind but I still expect them to throw the ball a lot early. The Chicago defense has already been ravaged by injuries, the latest to starting safety Quintin Demps. Ty Montgomery has an 89% snap rate through three weeks. He might not get that depending on the fourth quarter score. But, he still should get a nice workload over the first three quarters of the game. At receiver Randall Cobb practiced on Tuesday and if he is ready to go then I like Rodgers to Cobb early in this game for him to get his targets and a score. That will still mean plenty of yards for Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams. Martellus Bennett has not produced yet and this could be a good week for the Packers to get him a several easy targets to get in the flow of the system. Aaron Rodgers will get his yards. The hard part about the Packers offense is that there are too many choices to go with.
