Miami Dolphins 2017 Season Totals Preview
Is Tannehill the man?
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has recovered from the left knee injury that sidelined him for the final three games last season and is participating in team workouts. Wide receiver DeVante Parker looks like an average NFL receiver and nothing more. With Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills the Dolphins are solid at receiver. If the Dolphins are going to step up on offense. They must get better play from the offensive line. The unit was below average last year and if they can protect the quarterback a little better then the Dolphins offense should improve. Overall, the Dolphins offense has the parts to get the team back in the playoffs. They just need the offensive line to upgrade the interior line play.
Will the Dolphins defense be playoff ready?
The Dolphins won 10 games and made the playoffs for the first time since 2008 despite a defense that was the fourth worst in yards allowed and colud not stop the run. What did the Dolphins do to remedy this? They used five of their seven 2017 draft picks, including the first three, on defensive players. The top pick was defensive end Charles Harris from Missouri who should add to the pass rush.
Miami Dolphins: “Over/Under” 7.5 Wins
The Dolphins won 10 games last season. Now they are listed with an over under of 7.5 games? The Bills and the Jets are still bad. The Patriots are two losses. What we are looking for is 4 wins in the other 10 games. The schedule has them at; Atlanta, Baltimore, Carolina and Kansas City. I have the Dolphins fighting for a wild card spot and in it till the end of the season. I really think 8 or 9 wins is reasonable for this team and I am betting on the over.
If you are like me and like over 7.5 wins then you have three sportsbooks that you can bet at. Pick the one that gives you the best bonus.
