Texans vs Patriots Preview

These teams have met each of the past two seasons with New England sweeping both games (2-0) by a combined score of 54-6. In week 3 of this year the Texans lost 27-0. In that game Brock Osweiler went (24-for-41, 196 yards, INT).

In the game the Texans actually ended up with more total yards and first downs than the Patriots. The Patriots were able to hold down the Texans running game while LeGarrette Blount had over a hundred rushing yards for the Pats. Look for the Patriots to do what they do best. Take away the Texans running game and force Brock to beat them.

An example of our prop bet picks:

Total Passing yards by Brock Osweiler (HOU)
Pick: Over 205½ Passing Yards (-125)

In this pick you will see how we layout our selections. The first line contains what the bet is on. The second line will have the odds & the third line will have a link to the sportsbook whose odds we are using. Since we shop 3 different sportsbooks for the best odds we suggest you do the same before betting.

Quarterback Prop Betting Picks

Brock Osweiler looked decent against the Raiders last week but if you go back and look at films of him against the Patriots earlier this season. He was lost. The Pats had him so confused it was one of the games that lead to Brock being benched later in the season. Nothing has changed. Brock Osweiler will be road kill for the Pats. Now, that may seem like he will do poorly in the game. Remember, slop yards count and he can easily pick up some big yardage after the game is over.
Tom Brady is on a roll and the Texans will be road kill. That the Pats are going to win this game isn’t in doubt. But, will they get out to such a big lead that they call off the dogs and Brady ends up under performing? I don’t think so. I can see the Pats running up the score.

The Brock Oswieler odds are a reason I line shop. Sportsbetting.ag had him at over 205.5 passing yards yesterday. Game day Bovada offered the same return (-125) but with better odds. He is listed at over 200.5 passing yards. Doesn’t seem much but why not take it?

Bovada Football Prop Bet Odds

Bovada has really expanded on prop betting. They are now offering “in game” prop betting. Odds will be up after the kickoff on how many yards a quarterback will throw for or will they get a first down on a drive. Even if you do not want to bet on them. Defense / Special Teams Prop Bet Picks

Why line shop? Here is a great example. The number of combined sacks. Sportsbetting.ag is offering over 3.5 at (-140) while MyBookie.ag has it at over 3.5 (-150). Bovada just put up Over 4 at (+100). This means 4 would be a push at Bovada but win your other bet. What I do is tier my betting & place half on Sportsbetting.ag at over 3.5 & half at Bovada at over 4.
